Cement Bodies

Ongoing experimental project during the Spring exchange 2022
Project Overview
Cement Bodies is a mixed media installation around the theme of neutral body representation. Bodies are complex structures that build humans. Shifting the gaze away from the aesthetic of the nude.
My Contributions
The main focus of this semester in Minerva is this project. Cement bodies is an experimental process between ideas and where they can take you. My main focus was to make my work interdisciplinary. Bringing photography out of the flat space and questioning the sculptural. This is a work still in progress; part of it Wass installed at the Maydays 2022 exhibition Sugarcoated.

February 2022 - ongoing
An ongoing project since February 2022. Exploring the themes of nude, body autonomy, male and female gaze.

An experimental progress of interlinking photography and sculpture both by the subject matter and materiality. Driven by the urge to focus on now project and lengthen the process, I have experimented with multiple ways to achieve a good start of this. Working both in the camera and with my own hands, I sculpt the shapes of a body. Decisively delaying the recognition by engulfing recognisable parts of the body in cement and plaster.

Pushing myself out of the comfort zone, I experiment with sculpture and 3D scanning and editing.

Try out site-specific installation at the Sugarcoated open air and happening based exposition.
